About Us

Adam and Tyler began working together in the Summer of 2012 as part of an amazing clinical team at an adventure-based, immersion weight-loss program in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.  A solid friendship between the two quickly emerged; a friendship strengthened by a common passion for not only sport psychology, but all things living in this amazing world of athletics. Both Adam and Tyler believe in the power of this work, and have dedicated themselves to learning about and providing the most up-to-date and scientifically-based mental skills and performance enhancement techniques. Once the summer ended, Adam and Tyler began to brainstorm ways to take advantage of their mutual interest in this field. One thing led to another, moves were made, and badda bing, badda boom….

In Focus” was born.

The plan for this blog is to inundate our readers with general, scientifically-based mental skills information and techniques. We will add new posts each week, focusing on different aspects and tenets of the Sport Psych world (with a healthy dose of funny, odd, and fringe-hopping gems added between each post). The information is real. The techniques work. Maybe, juuuuuuust maybe, your interest and faith will be sparked enough to begin your own mental skills training program…ENJOY!

  1. Hey Tyler,

I was following a post on a linked in group a while back on negative self-talk and you were bombarded by another gentleman about it being the wrong approach. I dig deep into neurology and what they are saying about brain function and part of what he was saying was resonating with me and my experience, but his delivery was killing me. I just got a book by David Rock on Quiet Leadership and I recommend you get it… it supports some of what he was saying, but not how he was saying it. I think you would like to explore it.
